The 2025 cohort, comprising students from 15 countries, embarks on a mission to redefine business as a force for positive change.

This week, IE New York College (IENYC) welcomes the 2025 cohort of the Master of Science in Business for Social Impact and Sustainability, a program designed to equip future leaders with analytical tools and strategic insights to drive positive social and environmental change through business.

This launch represents a significant milestone for IE New York College, a nonprofit institution in the heart of historic SoHo. With IE University as its sole member, IENYC is chartered by the New York State Department of Education and accredited by the Middle States Commission for Higher Education. In September 2025, IENYC will welcome cohorts for the Master of Science in Sustainable Fashion and the Master of Science in Management, followed by the launch of master's programs in Management, Finance, and Business Analytics & Artificial Intelligence in 2026.

Coming from 15 countries and diverse academic backgrounds, —including business, international relations, computer science, and law— IENYC students will explore innovative business strategies that align positive impact with business growth and long-term success.

The master’s program is built on four academic pillars: understanding social impact and sustainability, integrating sustainability across business functions, leveraging innovation and entrepreneurship for change, and developing leadership skills to drive organizational transformation while creating positive societal and environmental impact.

At the Opening Ceremony of the Master of Science in Business for Social Impact and Sustainability, Manuel Muñiz, Chair of IENYC, said “Today is an important day for this college. What awaits you is a year full of learning and extraordinary experiences.”

“With New York as a backdrop, you will engage with top faculty and some of the world’s most innovative and competitive companies. After, a life full of opportunities. Enjoy your year.”
Manuel Muñiz, Chair of IENYC

During the first week of the program, students will engage in a diverse range of educational activities, including creative workshops and a visit to the Banksy Museum to explore unconventional approaches to addressing societal challenges.

With green jobs in high demand and sustainability expected to shape the job market, students will participate in insightful discussions on career opportunities in the US and beyond. According to the World Economic Forum, the climate transition will generate 8 million new jobs by 2030, and both the WEF Future of Jobs report 2025 and LinkedIn’s latest Job on the Rise report show that some of the fastest-growing careers will be sustainability-related.
